Michael J. Napoleone was elected as Mayor of the Village of Wellington Council in April 2024. He first joined the Council without opposition in December 2015 for a four-year term, making history as the first non-sitting council member elected without opposition in the Village's history. Mayor Napoleone served as Vice Mayor from April 9, 2019, to April 15, 2020, and was re-appointed to the position in April 2023.

Mayor Napoleone, a native of Boca Raton, is a graduate of the University of Florida and St. John’s University School of Law. He and his wife Cyndi moved to the Wellington area in 2002, attracted by its parks, green spaces, family-friendly community, and excellent public schools. They have raised two boys, Christopher and Luca.

As an attorney at Day Pitney, LLP, Mayor Napoleone's practice focuses on representing businesses and individuals in contract litigation, business transactions, corporate structuring, and probate litigation. He is a past president of the 3,000-member Palm Beach County Bar Association (PBCBA) and played a key role in helping the PBCBA acquire its own building.

Mayor Napoleone is currently a member of the Governing Board and the Executive Committee of the Palm Beach County Transportation Planning Agency. He has been on the Board of Directors of the Palm Beach County League of Cities since 2020. From 2011 to 2020, he served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Board of the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County. In 2015, Mayor Napoleone was a member of the Village of Wellington’s Charter Review Task Force. He has held numerous other civic and professional leadership positions, including past president of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, chairman of the PBCBA’s Professionalism, Diversity, and Leadership committees, six years on the Florida Bar’s Standing Committee on Professionalism, and six years on The Florida Bar’s Constitutional Judiciary Committee, including two years as chair and two years as vice-chair. Mayor Napoleone is passionate about public service and civics education and was part of the Florida Bar’s "Benchmarks" program, which developed programs to promote and teach civics education to adults.

Mayor Napoleone is dedicated to developing a long-range vision for Wellington that incorporates resident input. "Wellington is where we decided to raise our family, and it’s where I want to be for the next 20 years. It is important that we recognize that today’s decisions will create the Wellington that our children will inherit.”
